Art Adventures in the Subway

Did you know that you can find art, music, and poetry in the New York City transit system? Join us for a fun virtual program all about art that you can see and hear as you travel around the city by train! Check out mosaics in stations, listen to some lively tunes, and create art together using simple materials found at home.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays

10:00, 12:00 and 2:00

Fees: $100 for up to 36 participants, including chaperones.

Moving Our Communities (Pre-K – 2nd)

Explore New York City’s different modes of transportation through an interactive virtual tour and activities, and learn all about community workers and the importance of public transportation

Journey to the Past (K – 5th)

Learn about life, work, science, and transportation throughout New York City’s past and present through a virtual platform tour and interactive storytelling

Moving the Millions (4 – 12th grade)

Discover the magnitude and complexity of New York City’s public transportation system by virtually exploring elements of construction, engineering, organization and impact over time in this introduction to transit history

Subway Tracks (Special Education Only; 6th – Adult Learners)

Explore New York City’s subway system from past to present. Track the history of our complex transit system while also engaging in conversation around how we safely ride the subway today.

Fees:

$100 for Gen Ed classes, up to 36 participants, including teachers/chaperones

$50 for Special Ed classes, up to 17 participants, including teachers/chaperones
