Free Family Event:

Celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Independent Subway System, or IND, with the New York Transit Museum! The IND started with the A Train in 1932, and we still use original IND lines when we ride some of our favorite letter lines today. Let’s explore our vintage IND subway cars during a virtual tour of the Museum’s subway platform, enjoy “Take the A Train” and other musical tunes with Seth Ginsberg, and design a subway map in an art-making activity. Children with developmental disabilities or those on the autism spectrum and their families are invited to join us online for a morning of free family fun.

All ages welcome! Admission to this program is FREE and will be conducted using the Zoom platform. A social narrative will be emailed in advance of the program for your family to learn more about the activities and what to expect during a Zoom event.

Please Note: This event will take place online. Upon registration, all participants will receive a confirmation e-mail with instructions on how to participate. We encourage you to download the Zoom app in advance for the best user experience.

All attendees are welcome. A social narrative will be emailed to registrants before the program. You will have the option to turn on automatic captions for this virtual program. Staff will share instructions for how to do so at the start of the event. Please email [email protected] with any questions.
