Due to the Museum’s popularity and historic subway station home, we are unable to accommodate unscheduled or self-guided group visits.
To help keep this unique space safe, accessible, and enjoyable for all visitors, please note the following guidelines when planning your visit:
- School, youth and camp groups of any size must book a guided tour in advance and will not be admitted without a tour reservation. Please visit our School & Youth Tours page for details.
- Adult groups of 8 or more individuals are considered a group and must pre-arrange a tour. Please visit our Adult Tours page to make a reservation.
- Day Habilitation groups of 5 to 12 people total (1:5 chaperone to participant ratio required) must arrange visits in advance by emailing [email protected]. Any Day Habilitation groups that arrive without prior communication and confirmation will not be able to enter the Museum. For more information, including how to request Fee Waivers, visit our Access Programs page.
- Individual tickets, whether purchased online or on site, may not be used for self-guided group visits. You cannot complete multiple transactions of online tickets and arrive at the same time.
- Large groups are prohibited from gathering in one area or exploring the Museum in tandem without a scheduled tour.
Our goal is for every visitor to have a safe and enjoyable experience while also preserving our beloved subway station and collections. Our staff are here to help make your visit run smoothly, and we appreciate your cooperation with these guidelines.
If guidelines or staff instructions are not followed, visitors may be asked to leave and tickets will not be refunded.
