Nostalgia Ride: Catch the IRT From Old South Ferry Loop
Saturday, June 4, 2022

Morning Ride: 9:30 am (10 am departure)

SOLD OUT

Join us for a Nostalgia Ride on one of our favorite vintage trains, the IRT Lo-V! Built between 1916 and 1925, the Standard Lo-V subway car was the third “Low Voltage” car type ordered for the IRT. This non-stop roundtrip ride will run approximately one hour and forty-five minutes, departing from South Ferry Station in Lower Manhattan at 10:00 am and returning at approximately 11:45 am. Before the ride, take photos of the train on the platform and check out details like original mosaics and terracotta artwork from this 1905 station, closed to the public since 2017. Once on board, we will travel up the 2 line through Manhattan to The Bronx and emerge above ground on elevated tracks before turning around and heading back for one last look at South Ferry Station.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • All visitors 2 years and older must wear a mask covering the mouth and nose at all times inside the South Ferry Station and on vintage trains, even if you are vaccinated. No exceptions will be made. Face shields alone are not sufficient. Bandanas, scarves, gaiters, and masks with one-way valves are not adequate face coverings.
  • There won’t be an opportunity to disembark in The Bronx; this will be a roundtrip ride.
  • Nostalgia Rides run rain or shine. Equipment and route are subject to change.
  • This ticket is for the morning ride only.
