For 100 years, The New Yorker magazine has chronicled the quirks, chaos, and charm of city life. Naturally, New York’s transit system has been a frequent subject, immortalized in dozens of cartoons and cover art. The New York Transit Museum has curated a selection of these iconic works in Commentary on the Commute: A Century of The New Yorker’s Transportation Cartoons, a new exhibit at our Grand Central Gallery & Store.
Join Curator Jodi Shapiro and featured artists Roz Chast and Ellis Rosen for a look back at a century of transit commentary as seen through the unmistakable style of The New Yorker cartoons.
Tickets for this event are $10 for museum members and $15 for the general public.
For members the discount is applied at checkout.
