All aboard the Member Express! In celebration of Members Appreciation Month and our 50^th anniversary, hop on our BMT Standards (built between 1914-1924) for a journey into the past. Leaving from the New York Transit Museum’s own Court Street Station, the Standards bring riders on tracks that once served the Brooklyn Manhattan Transit (BMT) and Independent (IND) subway companies. This exclusive journey is our way of saying thank you to the members who have kept us moving for 50 years.

The trip leaves the Museum, goes to Lefferts Boulevard on the A line, then heads towards Manhattan. The train makes several drop-off stops along the way, including Jay St, West 4 St, 59 St, and 125 St. The last and final stop is 175 St. The trip lasts approximately 2 hours for those who stay for the full journey.

Ticketing

Tickets cost $50 per adult and $30 per child and are only available to New York Transit Museum members.

Please note:

Museum guest passes and caregiver add-ons are valid only for Museum admission. The PCA add-on for members with disabilities is valid for member-only programs but must be requested by emailing [email protected] as soon as tickets are purchased.

All ticket sales are final. If you cannot attend the program on the date you reserved or do not submit security materials in time, the total price of unused tickets will be treated as a donation to the Transit Museum and is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Tickets are non-refundable, cannot be transferred to another date, and cannot be used by another individual. 

Age Requirements

Children ages 2 and up need their own ticket to the program.

Children ages 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Program Experience

Nostalgia Rides happen rain or shine. Equipment, route, timing, and duration are subject to change. Ticketed rides last about 60-120 minutes.

Restrooms are not available on the trains.

Your safety is important to us!

Please walk carefully on platforms and stay behind the yellow line. Do not sit directly on the platform.
Please keep arms, hands and cameras inside the train. Walking between train cars is not allowed.
The first car of the train is a magical place for everyone. Please consider our youngest visitors and allow children to look out the front window.
Help us preserve these vintage cars for future generations! Do not eat or drink while on board and leave all original elements where they belong.

The Museum is located in a decommissioned subway station.

When you arrive, look for a subway station entrance on the Northwest corner of Boerum Place and Schermerhorn Street—that’s us! The stairway will lead you down to the Museum.
There is Wi-Fi, but no cell phone service in the Museum. If you plan to visit with others, we recommend coordinating in advance and entering together.
The Museum does not have a bag or coat check. Please do not bring large bags to the Museum to allow more space for visitors in exhibits.
The Museum’s platform does not have climate control.
Eating is not allowed anywhere in the Museum.

Accessibility

The Museum is located down a set of stairs. It’s wheelchair-accessible entrance is located at the corner of Schermerhorn and Court Streets.

Pets, or comfort, therapy, or emotional support animals are not permitted at Museum programs. Only service animals as defined by the ADA are permitted.
