ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Free Family Event:
Rise and shine with the New York Transit Museum! Children with developmental disabilities or those on the autism spectrum and their families are invited to join us in Downtown Brooklyn for a morning of free family fun. Enjoy the Museum before we open to the public at 10am and participate in special transit-themed activities led by Transit Museum staff.
During our Special Day explore the new exhibit The Subway Is… and celebrate all things subway for the 120th anniversary of its first ride on October 27th, 1904. Visit the Hands-on-History cart to discover the objects of real transit workers. The subway is always changing so design a new subway map in an art-making workshop. Join an interactive drumming session with ExcelleAerobics and enjoy live music, just one of the many artforms that enliven our subway system. A quiet room will be available for anyone who would like a sensory break.
All ages welcome! Admission to this program is FREE and advance registration is required. Within a week after registering you will receive 2 emails: a confirmation email and an email with your e-tickets for the event.
Accessibility:
A social narrative will be emailed to registrants in advance of the program for your family to learn more about the activities and what to expect during this event.
