Public transportation remains one of the most effective ways to reduce greenhouse emissions and manage the rising threats of climate change.
The Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) has led the development of technologies and strategies to move millions sustainably, conserve energy, recycle resources, and increase efficiency. With almost four decades of experience in the field Thomas Abdallah, currently MTA’s Chief Environmental Engineer, wrote the actual book on sustainability in the system: Sustainable Mass Transit: Challenges and Opportunities in Public Transportation.
Join Abdallah to celebrate the release of the book’s second edition and learn about his key findings. New sections explore efforts to electrify New York’s bus fleet, the management of transit needs during the pandemic, and the role artificial intelligence may play in future sustainability initiatives.
Tickets for this event are $10 for museum members and $15 for the general public.
For members the discount is applied at checkout.
