ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Free Family Event:
Rise and shine with the New York Transit Museum! Children with developmental disabilities or autism and their families are invited to join us in Downtown Brooklyn for a morning of free family fun. Discover the Museum before we open to the public at 10am and participate in special transit-themed activities led by Transit Museum staff. Let’s have a Special Day together!
Soak up some Summer Fun at Special Day! In celebration of the incoming season, catch some rays creating cyanotype photographs with “sun” light. Romp and explore transit history with a Search and Find activity. A juggler and hula hoop artist are bringing outdoor play underground; juggle and twirl in an interactive performance inspired by the family-friendly cirque show Passengers*. A quiet room will be available for anyone who would like a sensory break.
All ages welcome! Admission to this program is FREE and advance registration is required. After registering you will receive 2 emails: a confirmation email and an email with your e-tickets for the event.
*Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC) presents Passengers, a thrilling cirque show for all ages from Montréal’s acclaimed troupe The 7 Fingers. At Special Day, performers will showcase exciting acts like those seen in Passengers—on stage at PAC NYC June 12th through June 29th. After being wowed by the artists, learn how to juggle or show off your hula hoop skills as part of this interactive experience.

A social narrative will be emailed to registrants in advance of the program for your family to learn more about the activities and what to expect during this event.
