Free Family Event:

Rise and shine with the New York Transit Museum! Children with developmental disabilities or those on the autism spectrum and their families are invited to join us in Downtown Brooklyn for a morning of free family fun. Enjoy the Museum before we open to the public at 10am and participate in special transit-themed activities led by Transit Museum staff.

All aboard the imagination train at Special Day! Inspired by the MTA’s Poetry in Motion program, form your own picture poems in an art-making workshop. Spark your  curiosity on a pretend-play adventure with an interactive storyteller. And NeuroMotif Music Therapy is bringing the music! Create new sounds with them during a song-writing workshop. A quiet room will be available for anyone who would like a sensory break.

All ages welcome! Admission to this program is FREE and advance registration is required. After registering you will receive 2 emails: a confirmation email and an email with your e-tickets for the event.

NeuroMotif is a neurodiversity-affirming music therapy practice serving the disabilities community in Brooklyn. They use music to help people of all ages and neurotypes build confidence and connection. They will facilitate interactive and accessible music-making activities to foster creativity and imagination, including songwriting, improvisation, and collaborative playing.
