Rise and shine with the New York Transit Museum! Children with developmental disabilities or autism and their families are invited to join us in Downtown Brooklyn for a morning of free family fun. Discover the Museum before we open to the public at 10am and participate in special transit-themed activities led by Transit Museum staff. Let’s have a Special Day together!
It’s our birthday! Come celebrate 50 years of the New York Transit Museum in our new exhibit The New York Transit Museum: 50 Years of Stories. Create your own tile mosaic inspired by subway station art and complete a Search and Find activity all through the museum to learn about art in our transit system! Then, head down to the platform to enjoy a show about Alfred Ely Beach’s secret “subway,” and an interactive music performance by Seth Ginsberg of Creative Music Programs! A quiet room will be available for anyone who would like a sensory break.
All ages welcome! Admission to this program is FREE and advance registration is required. After registering you will receive 2 emails: a confirmation email and an email with your e-tickets for the event.
Accessibility:
A social narrative will be emailed to registrants in advance of the program for your family to learn more about the activities and what to expect during this event. For more information on Transit Museum accessibility including wheelchair access, please visit nytransitmuseum.org/accessibility. Please email [email protected] with any questions.
