ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Penn Station Train Talk at Plaza 33

Sunday, September 22, 2024

2:00 PM ET

Offsite Program Hosted by the 34th Street Partnership

Free

In its 114-year history, Penn Station has seen its share of transformations, including Madison Square Garden and the recent opening of Moynihan Hall. While remaining the busiest Amtrak station in the country, its primary function has evolved to accommodate shorter-distance commutes to the bedroom communities of Long Island and New Jersey.

Join Transit Historian Andy Sparberg in an open-air talk at Plaza 33—located just adjacent to Penn Station—to hear more about the history and evolution of the landmark.

As always everyone is welcome to join. This talk provides a deep dive, thus is best suited for those who have some knowledge of New York City transit.
