Deep Dive in the Archive
Sunday, April 28 | 2:00 pm - 4:00 pmSOLD OUT
The New York Transit Museum’s Gabrielle Shubert Research Center in Sunset Park holds more than 8,000 artifacts, 3,000 cubic feet of archival material, and 250,000 photographs. The Research Center and its holdings help the New York Transit Museum tell the stories of mass transportation – extraordinary engineering feats, workers who labored in the tunnels over 100 years ago, communities that were drastically transformed, and the ever-evolving technology, design, and ridership of a system that runs 24 hours a day, every day of the year. On this tour, join New York Transit Museum archivists to learn how they preserve objects and archival materials, and view items from the Museum’s extensive collections.
