Museum programs for all on an NYC school holiday!

THE GREAT NEW YORK SUBWAY MAP    10:30am-12pm

After a reading of Emiliano Ponzi’s The Great New York Subway Map, we’ll take what inspired Massimo Vignelli’s classic map to help us design our own interpretation of a subway map for the future!  Ages 5+ and accompanying adults

HISTORY ON WHEELS    11:30am-12:30pm and 2:30-3:30pm

Make discoveries and learn fun facts about public transportation through handling materials, including some wonderful maps from transit history. For all ages

THE PNEUMATIC SUBWAY    1:30-2:30pm

In 1870, inventor Alfred Beach caused a sensation when he opened his experimental subway powered by air. We will learn more about his unique design and use air power to conduct experiments of our own. Ages 5+ and accompanying adults
