Beach Bound: Coney Island

  • Event Date Sunday, July 30, 2017

  • Time: 11am-5pm ET
  • SOLD OUT

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

We will travel aboard the Museum’s vintage Train of Many Metals for its first ride on the Second Avenue line, led by the R-11 prototype originally built for that line in the 1950s. We will ride the length of the Q-line, above and below ground for a two-hour jaunt to Coney Island. Once we arrive at our seaside destination, brave the rides at Luna Park, check out the action on the legendary Boardwalk, or nosh on one of Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs. You can also take in the Transit Museum’s special exhibit Five Cents to Dreamland: A Trip to Coney Island, now on display at the Coney Island Museum. At 4pm, the train will be making a return trip to 96th Street-Second Avenue.
