Capturing Penn Station’s Legacy

October 25, 2016 | 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Penn Station, 1963

For Penn Station, 2016 is a milestone year marking the 50th anniversary of its completed demolition as well as the launch of a new and highly-publicized effort to rebuild the station. This timely conversation with artists, historians, and urbanists will center around Penn Station’s disappearance from the landscape of New York and examine the ways that its loss continues to resonate. As planners look towards the future of Penn Station, we will look back at its legacy and examine how the history of the station can inform a new vision of a great civic space.
