Museum cars revive the spirit of the original HH Shuttle, the short shuttle service that once ran between Court Street and Hoyt-Schermerhorn. Board at the Museum and ride vintage trains back and forth along the same route that connected Brooklyn commuters in the 1930s and ’40s.

The 10:15am time slot each day is reserved for Members only. Non-members can reserve tickets by selecting a different time slot from the Other Times pulldown menu above, on the right.

**Please note that the Museum does not permit group visits unless you have booked a staff-led group program with us. If you are interested in booking a group visit with us, please go to our On-Site School Programs webpage or our Adult Groups Programs webpage.
Please note:
- All visitors, including members and affiliates, are strongly encouraged to reserve tickets online in advance. There is a limited number of tickets available for purchase on site, on a first-come, first-served basis.
- All sales are final; tickets are nonrefundable and cannot be exchanged. Tickets are nontransferable and therefore may not be resold. Tickets that have been resold will not be honored.
- Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes before your reservation time. You will have a 30 minute window, starting at the time of your reservation, during which you may enter the Museum.
- Each entrance time has limited capacity to allow for more space to explore the Museum safely and comfortably. You will not be able to re-enter the Museum after you have exited.
- Photo shoots are not allowed.
- Please do not visit the Museum if you are sick or not feeling well for any reason.
- If you are unable to visit due to illness, you may transfer tickets to a future date as space allows. Please contact us at least 24 hours before your original ticket time if you need to reschedule your visit.
- The only fully climate controlled area in our subway station home is the store, which will have limited capacity to allow for social distancing. When it is hot outside, it is hot inside the Museum. Please dress for the weather, and bring a fan if possible.
- By entering the Transit Museum, you consent to having your image, voice, and/or likeness captured by official photographers and videographers.
Members: click “Sign In” above in the upper right corner before reserving your tickets in order not to be charged. If this is your first time reserving tickets online, click “Sign In,” select “Click here to register,” and enter your details. The discount will be applied after adding to cart in your check-out basket.
Library Members: enter your quantity below, add to cart, and use your library’s discount code at check-out to reserve your free tickets. If you don’t know the code, contact your library.
Children ages 2 and up need their own ticket.
Children ages 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Equipment and timing are subject to change. Rides are round trip between the Museum and Hoyt-Schermerhorn station, lasting about 10-20 minutes.
Restrooms are not available on the trains.
Your safety is important to us!
- Please walk carefully on platforms and stay behind the yellow line. Do not sit directly on the platform.
- Please keep arms, hands and cameras inside the train. Walking between train cars is not allowed.
- The first car of the train is a magical place for everyone. Please consider our youngest visitors and allow children to look out the front window.
- Help us preserve these vintage cars for future generations! Do not eat or drink while on board and leave all original elements where they belong.
The Museum is located in a decommissioned subway station.
- When you arrive, look for a subway station entrance on the Northwest corner of Boerum Place and Schermerhorn Street—that’s us! The stairway will lead you down to the Museum.
- There is Wi-Fi, but no cell phone service in the Museum. If you plan to visit with others, we recommend coordinating in advance and entering together.
- The Museum does not have a bag or coat check. Please do not bring large bags to the Museum to allow more space for visitors in exhibits.
- The Museum’s platform does not have climate control.
- Eating is not allowed anywhere in the Museum.
The Museum is located down a set of stairs. It’s wheelchair-accessible entrance is located at the corner of Schermerhorn and Court Streets.
Pets, or comfort, therapy, or emotional support animals are not permitted at Museum programs. Only service animals as defined by the ADA are permitted.
