Summer Camp 2019
Navigation Nation: Finding Your Way Through New York and Beyond
Visit the New York Transit Museum this summer for a wayfinding adventure in our decommissioned subway station! We will discover how maps have helped us build, describe, and navigate our world. Campers will go on an interactive tour, see a performance, and help create a collaborative map.
Summer camp programs are for ages 4-12. All group visits to the Museum must be reserved in advance. To request a reservation, please continue to our Online Request Form.

To request a reservation, please continue to our Online Request Form.
We strongly recommend that groups plan to eat lunch in one of the many nearby outdoor areas, such as Borough Hall, Columbus Park, Whitman Park, Cadman Plaza and McLaughlin Park. Please note that lunch tables are extremely limited and only available on a first-come, first-served basis at 11:15 for an 11:45 program.
Arrivals and Departures
Please arrive ten minutes before your scheduled start time. When possible, have students remain on the school bus or outside the Museum while the group leader handles payment.
Due to space constraints, groups arriving earlier than their scheduled time will be asked to wait outside the Museum.
Late arriving groups will receive an abbreviated program. If you are running late, please contact (718) 694 – 1848.
All groups must depart at their scheduled time. Groups may not self-guide before or after their program.
The Transit Museum is wheelchair accessible via a lift. Please share information about the needs of your group when making your reservation so we can best assist you. The lift is slow, so plan to arrive 15 minutes before your program’s start time.
