Nostalgia Ride to 161st-Yankee StadiumThursday, March 30th11:00 am - 11:30 amFree with subway fare!

We're offering the perfect way to get into the spirit of baseball season and show off your pinstripe pride – a ride to Yankee Stadium aboard a 1917 IRT Lo-V train! Departing from Grand Central at 11am sharp on March 30th, the Yankees Nostalgia Train will run non-stop to 161st Street – Yankee Stadium. As an added bonus to accommodate even more railfans, a configuration of 6 IRT SMEE cars from the beloved Train of Many Colors will arrive immediately following the Lo-V Nostalgia Train. For just the cost of a MetroCard swipe or OMNY tap, riders can hop aboard a vintage train car of their choice and take a ride back in time on their way to cheer the New York Yankees to victory over the San Francisco Giants.

New York Transit Museum Nostalgia Rides are an immersive, hands-on experience. Riders can sit on the seats, hold onto the handrails, read the vintage advertisements, and travel through time to the early days of the New York subway system. All it takes is good timing and your subway fare to get you onboard the vintage subway train.

The Lo-V Nostalgia Train is scheduled to leave the uptown 4 train platform of 42nd Street – Grand Central at approximately 11 am. The Train of Many Colors will arrive immediately after the Lo-V Nostalgia Train. Vintage trains will run non-stop on the Lexington Avenue Line, arriving at 161st Street – Yankee Stadium in about 25 minutes. The ride up to the Bronx will get fans to the stadium gates with plenty of time before the first pitch at 1:05 pm.

PLEASE NOTE:

Masks are strongly encouraged, but not required. Please don't join the ride if you: are feeling sick for any reason, are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, have been diagnosed with COVID-19 within the past 14 days or have been in close contact with someone infected with or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.

While the subway platform is accessible via elevator, guests may be required to transfer from their wheelchairs to board the train, at which point they may sit in a train seat or in their wheelchair. The elevator to the mezzanine can be found inside the main station entrance on East 42nd Street between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue, immediately to right of Grand Central Terminal. Turn left after paying your fare and the elevator to the uptown platform will be to the right. For other accessibility inquiries please email [email protected].
