ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The New York City subway not only moves people around the city but is home to beautiful works of art in both the oldest and newest stations. The system even boasts one of the largest collections of public art in the world. Join us for a visual tour and discussion of mosaic art in the subway and stay to create your own mosaic art. This program is two sessions (July 5 and August 2) to ensure enough time for learning and art-making. Space is limited. Please call 718-694-1406 to register.

With Senior Wednesdays at the New York Transit Museum, you can relive the experience of traveling through New York City during the early, mid and late twentieth century! Explore our hands-on collection of vintage subway and elevated cars and exhibits that share the rich story of public transportation. Discover the history, technology, design and future of transportation. This program is presented as part of the Transit Museum’s Senior Wednesdays initiative. Individuals age 62 or older receive free admission every Wednesday, and special programs and tours like this on select days (excludes senior group visits). No pre-registration is required.
