Transit Talks on Senior Wednesdays

October 4, 2017 | 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

FREE

Signals are a vital component of the subway system, keeping trains moving safely and efficiently throughout the city. At terminal stations like our Court Street station home, there are Signal Towers and their operators who enable us to reach our destinations. Visit our historic Signal Tower to learn how it once moved trains through our station, how signal systems work today, and plans for signals of the future.

Transit Talks on Senior Wednesdays allow visitors to relive the experience of traveling through New York City during the twentieth century! During Transit Talks, seniors ages 62+ have the opportunity to explore our hands-on collection of vintage subway and elevated cars and discover the history, technology, design and future of transportation.
