To the Rockaways by Rail!

Grab a seat on a beach-bound Nostalgia Ride heading to the Rockaways this August! We’re celebrating summer by taking our 1930s R-1/9 vintage train cars on a trip from our own Court Street station home in Brooklyn to Rockaway Park-Beach 116^th Street in Queens. Bring a picnic and take a dip in the ocean, or head out to explore the boardwalk. Ride our vintage train back to the city at the end of the afternoon, or stay late to enjoy the nightlife on Rockaway Beach before making your way home on your own.

Tickets for the general public are $50 for adults and $25 for children. Tickets for museum members are $35 for adults and $20 for children.

The Nostalgia Ride will depart at 11:00 am from the Transit Museum, which is located in a decommissioned subway station on the corner of Boerum Place and Schermerhorn Street in Downtown Brooklyn. The train will pick us up in the Rockaways at 4:00 pm and make select stops along the A line in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Nostalgia Rides run rain or shine. Equipment and route are subject to change.

Refunds are not available for ticketed programs. Should you be unable to attend, the full price of unused tickets may be treated as a donation to the Transit Museum and is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
