Design a Vehicle

General & Special Education: Pre-K

Through imaginative play and our interactive collection of buses and trains, pre-k students help our favorite story character find his way to Times Square. Classes will explore New York City’s different modes of transportation and community workers and make their own movable bus or train.  (75 minutes)

The Museum does not have storage space for backpacks and coats. We recommend leaving backpacks and other personal items on your bus or at school

Arrivals & Departures

Please arrive ten minutes before your scheduled start time. When possible, have students remain on the school bus or outside the Museum while the teacher handles payment.

Due to space constraints, groups arriving earlier than their scheduled time will be asked to wait outside the Museum.

Late arriving groups will receive an abbreviated program. If you are running late, please contact (718) 694 – 1848.

All groups must depart at their scheduled time. Groups may not self-guide before or after their program.

Accessibility

The Transit Museum is wheelchair accessible via a lift. Please share information about the needs of your group when making your reservation so we can best assist you. The lift is slow, so plan to arrive 15 minutes before your program’s start time. For more information on accessibility options, including ASL interpreters and listening devices, please click here.
